This study assessed the state policies and transportation system of 3 cities in Bihar and identified transportation barriers and obstacles faced by women. It provided policy recommendations; created gender responsive street design guidelines and an action plan to enable women's access to education and employment opportunities.

This project supports the Delhi Transport Department in creating the RFP & implementation of 1,400 bus shelters, passenger information systems and CCTV cameras, evaluating the bus marshals program, creating the ToR and participating as a member of the Task Force for Women’s Safety in Public Transport.
Promoting Sustainable Transport in the NCT of Delhi
A 1.5-day training programme was created and facilitated for national and city officials and civil society organizations in Jordan on mainstreaming gender in public transport. The program was designed to include a technical presentation followed by brainstorming sessions on different stages of a public transport journey: access to and from a bus stop, waiting at the stop, boarding and alighting and travel inside the vehicle.

This research was part of the High Volume Transport Applied Research Programme and involved understanding the governance of metropolitan regions to facilitate land-use and transport integration. The themes addressed multi-scalar, lateral and geographic coordination, technical expertise, gender and social inclusion.

This research was co-authored with Ola Mobility Institute and involved a gender-disaggregated analysis of around 24,000 surveys across 11 cities in India to understand women’s mode share, experience and perceptions of sustainable transportation.
What Do Women & Girls Want From Urban Mobility Systems
This paper was co-authored with Sustain2030 and involved identifying the potential, barriers and challenges to promoting land-use and transport integration in Asia. The paper was presented at the Eleventh Intergovernmental Regional Environmentally Sustainable Transport (EST) Forum organized by UNCRD in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia in October 2018.
